Biography

Madison based artist, Jerry Jordan (b. 1966), paints figures in liminal spaces. Drawing on the influences of classical academic painters like John Singer Sargent and Joaquin Sorolla, Jordan's figures boldly express Blackness in a stylistic vocabulary which has historically excluded black figures and black authorship.

Jerry Jordan received his BA in Art as well as his MS in Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.
